Become a Rotarian

Membership is vital to a Rotary club’s fellowship and community service activities. A primary goal of the club is to continually expand the club with committed members who have the interest and ability to get involved in service and humanitarian projects, and who like to have fun at the same time.

Rotary clubs invite individuals to join and become members (but don’t worry if you don’t know a Rotarian). We encourage people to attend several meetings before joining. This allows you to get to know us and the club before considering any commitment.

Benefits of becoming a Rotarian

Apart from involvement in one of the world’s largest service organisations, established more than 100 years ago, the benefits of membership of the Rotary Club of City Central Hobart include:

  • An instant network of like-minded people in Tasmania, Australia and across the world.
  • The ability to support those less fortunate than ourselves in a structured and efficient way.
  • Opportunities to develop leadership and public speaking skills.
  • Build longstanding business relationships and life-long friendships.
  • The opportunity to interact with business people from across a wide range of industries.
  • Variety of diverse and entertaining Guest Speakers.
  • Actively participate in local and international humanitarian projects.
  • You too can make a difference!

I’m interested - what do I do next?

If you don’t know a Rotarian and are interested in attending one of our meetings to find out more, you can contact the Club’s Membership Officer, Kate Nichols, via email: membership@citycentralhobart.org.au

If you know one of our members (see the Members page) have a chat to her/him and come along to a meeting.
