Help at the Gate for the Briggs Athletics Classic 2010

Several of our club helped with the ticket collection at the Briggs Athletics Classic on Friday 12th February.   We started our roster from 4pm and we finished around 8pm.
It was not as busy as the All Schools and Youth Athletics Championships in December last year but it was very busy at times.

Parking & Ticketing for the All Schools and Youth Athletics

Our club finished helping out with selling tickets and managing parking at the 2009 UTAS All Schools and Youth Athletics Championships from Friday to Monday.

BBQ for Shopping & Trade Expo

Marshalls for the Christmas Pageant yesterday

BBQ for Tasmania Day / Theatre Royal Open Day

Sunday 8th November was Tasmania Day which we participated in by helping the Theatre Royal celebrate their 175th Anniversary.

Phone books completed for another year

Light the Night - Leukaemia Foundation

On the 23rd September our club president Paul Sayer and Warwick Pease joined with the Rotaract Club of Sandy Bay (inc. Ryan McConnon, Hannah Vermeulen, Emma Piccoli) to walk with an illuminated balloon from the City Hall around the docks and back again.  There were speakers talking about their experiences with Leukaemia.

Tracy successfully walked the Kokoda Trail for RAWCS

Past President Tracy Dance participated in the second annual walk for RAWCS along the Kokoda Trail last month.
Three Rotarians including PDG Bob Sydes and Gordon Hanson both of RC of Central Launceston plus 10 others from across Australia walked from Ower’s Corner to Kokoda from September 14th to 24th.

Tree Planting at Phil’s Farm

Victorian Bushfire Relief

Phil Headlam and Paul Sayer, with John Behrens from Lindisfarne Rotary Club, returned from Victoria last week.
They went to Traralgon South to help replace fencing lost in the bush fires.
This was the fifteenth team from Tasmania to spend a week replacing some of the 4000 km of fencing that was lost.
