Rotary’s main objective is community service (locally, nationally and internationally) and its motto is Service Above Self.

To perform community service the Rotary Club of City Central is involved in a number of projects.

Club Projects

Migrant Job Club

The primary objective of the Migrant Job Club project is to support refugees based in Tasmania to find paid employment and volunteer work and to assist in making career choices.
For Rotarians, it is also anticipated that the project will provide personal development and fellowship opportunities.

First Aid for New Parents

The aims of this pilot project were to:
1) provide easy access to basic first aid training for new parents, and
2) ultimately, to save the lives of babies and children.
Making training in First Aid easily available to new parents is something that could make a real difference in the community helping to keep children safe and maybe even saving some lives.

National Youth Science Forum

For 12 days in January, students go to either Canberra or Perth and live on campus as a university student. More than 100 like-minded NYSF participants come from around Australia and overseas to meet a range of scientists and researchers, to visit them at work and to do the kinds of things scientists do every day. The NYSF participants debate the hottest science and engineering topics and pick up valuable skills to give them the edge in year 12 and beyond. It is not all work; they also enjoy the fellowship of their other nysF participants through trivia quizzes, BBQs, discos and a range of sports.
