Loui’s Van Letterbox Drop to Clarendon Vale and Rokeby

May 24th, 2009 · No Comments · Community activites, Main

This morning seven members of our club spent several hours delivering nearly 870 leaflets about Loui’s Van in Clarendon Vale and Rokeby.  Loui’s Van recently started serving Clarendon Vale, Rokeby, and Gagebrook in March 2009 in addition to the regular locations in Glenorchy, Hobart and Bridgewater.  It provides food, information and support for anyone who comes and operates in the evenings from around 7pm to 9pm.  “In the last year [2008] Loui’s Van served over 11,000 people.  Half of these people are under the age of 30 and two thirds of these people are male.” (from the leaflet delivered).

For further information contact Loui’s Van (St Vincent de Paul Society) on 0362 344 244, or louisvan@stvinnies.org.au, or visit them at 212 Argyle Street, Hobart, TAS 7000.  Loui’s Van volunteers usually are rostered as part of a team and go our once every four weeks.  Please contact them if you would like to become a volunteer or would just like some more information.
