The Rotary Club of City Central Hobart was established for younger people in the greater Hobart area who are interested in community service, fellowship and business networking.

The Club focuses on activities of interest to its members, particularly the environment, mental health and young people.

Community Service Activities

  • Feeding the homeless by volunteering on St Vincent de Paul’s Louis Van one night a month.
  • Coastal Rehabilitation weekend at Swansea.
  • Ongoing Community working bees including Planet Ark Day.

International Service Activities

  • Supporting severely disfigured young people through Rotary’s overseas medical aid program (ROMAC – Reaching Overseas with Medical Aid for Children).
  • Building homes for the underprivileged in Fiji.
  • Collecting books & toys for disadvantaged children overseas.

Vocational Service Activities

  • Learning about other vocations through short member sketches.
  • Visiting interesting workplaces including an Optical Laboratory, Stoney Vineyard, the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources and the Rosny Collections & Research Facility of the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery.

Youth Programs

  • Assisting local students to participate in programs such as the Model United Nations Assembly.

Social Activities

  • Cocktail parties, BBQ’s, movies, festivals, dinner parties, bush walks and much more.

Fundraising

  • Relay for Life, Tasmanian Devil research.
  • Money Spinner, Chocolate drives, fundraising wines & Quiz nights.
